If you’re in the New York / Brooklyn area, William Greiner’s debut exhibition at Klompching Gallery in Brooklyn entitled Fallen Paradise opens tonight, May 1 with a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. On Saturday, May 3, starting at 1:00 pm, Klompching will host an artist talk and book signing. The exhibition will be on view through June 27.

While many photographers flocked to New Orleans to only capture the devastation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and after the flood of pictures have not since returned, William Greiner and Paradise Lost presents the vernacular landscape of pre-Katrina New Orleans. His photographs reveal and transform the ordinary and banal into extraordinary and reflect a smart use of color with intention and purpose. Born and raised in New Orleans (and now living in Baton Rouge), Greiner has been photographing and writing about his day-to-day experiences in post-Katrina Louisiana on his blog, William Greiner – New Orleans + Katrina + Beyond.
